MBA in Oil & Gas Management from University of Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom. Strong Oil industry background with comprehensive cross-business experience covering over three decades in both operational and strategic roles in Shell Pakistan, a Global project for Shell International BV in The Netherlands and in providing consultancy services to large and diverse business groups in sales, supply chain & Safety.
Major assignments include; supporting retail business transformation during market entry of Shell in Pakistan, positioning supply chain network to meet the required distribution efficiencies for a de-regulated oil market scenario and representing Middle East & Asia in Global team for ‘Terminals Automation standards’. Facilitating compliance by developing ‘Business Control Standards’ as an internal auditor for Shell Companies in Pakistan and called to the Hague- with the distinction of being the only Asian in the four member team to develop the ‘HSSE Control framework’ for the Shell Group to create sustainable safety culture across all businesses worldwide in over 70 countries and now upgrading supply chain processes & safety systems for oil & gas and FMCG companies and training staff in Pakistan and abroad.
Last posting in Shell Pakistan was as Distribution manager and managed the largest supply chain in the country with administrative control of 12 Terminals, 300 staff , storage of 70000 MT, and 2.7mn m3 liters per annum of product deliveries and product proceeds of USD $ 700 mn.

Dr. Barlas is a medical doctor, who is extensively trained in occupational health in the UK. He brings with him expertise in HSE management systems in multinational environment. He has worked as GM HSE Azgard 9 group where he has been actively involved in ISO certification of the group’sfertilizer plant, GM HSE PIA, Country Corporate HSE Manager, Shell Pakistan and as Occupational Health Physian, ICI Pakistan. He is the visiting HSE consultant to PSTD.
